Morning Devotion- 6/25/2012

Sometimes in this life we feel all alone… as if no one hears us or is there for us. But it is so important to realize that the Lord is always with us and will not leave us. Often time the Lord will allow things to come our way so that we will trust in Him more and realize that our strength is in Him, not in the works of our own hands. I pray that the following passage will encourage you to keep pressing on, even when things seem impossible, because the Lord is right there with you!

“O Jacob, how can you say the LORD does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 49:27-31 NLT

Encouraging Songs for Tough Times…

For those who may be going through some rough times, I want to remind you that God is with us ALWAYS and that His Word never fails! Hold tight to Him and He will see you through!

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” Numbers 23:19 NLT

“Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke 21:33

“…and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:20 KJV

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV

“…for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5 KJV

I’m Back!!! Well, sort of ;)

Okay, it’s been a while, but I promise that I have not forgotten about you guys! Life has been sooo hectic recently, but still enjoyable 🙂

I’m not quite sure about what I will write next… But until then, definitely check out the new Bible Study I’ve posted called, “Into His Marvelous Light”. Also, here’s some inspiration for you one of my favorite songs ever!

“Love Song” by Gateway College of Evangelism

And if you’re going through anything right now, here’s a wonderful song to encourage you. Just know that God is with you and He is on your side. He is our rock and our refuge throughout all of life’s ups and downs.

“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62: 5-7

“Through It All” by James Avery Simms and Gateway College of Evangelism

Have a great night & God bless!~t

Awesome Testimony

Here is the awesome testimony of Sis. Vani Marshall… God has truly done a marvelous work in her life! she was born and raised as a Hindu, and did not really know who Jesus was. But in her darkest hour, He revealed Himself as the only true and living God!!! Be encouraged! If you are trying to find God or are struggling, remember that Jesus wants you to be saved and overcome sin! He made a way for you to do that through His sacrifice on the cross and by giving us His Spirit! So keep on seeking God and be obedient to the Word and Spirit of God, if you do this you will NEVER lack!

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6 KJV

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18 KJV

God bless! ~t

Remember this when you’re stressed…

This has got to be one of my favorite modern pop art images! Sometimes life throws us some not-so-fun curve balls (I’m a big sports fan, so you will see many more sports references lol), but we have to remember that it will all work out for the good of them that love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). So enjoy! ~t

Morning Meditation – 4/26/2011

Here’s one of my favorite passages in the Bible that I wanted to share!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:5-8 NLT

Remember no matter what, give all of your cares and anxieties to Jesus because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7)… But while giving your problems over to God, remember to exalt and thank God for what He has done. By doing this you will remind yourself of how great and powerful He truly is! And no matter what, try to keep your mind on pure, wholesome things and not get distracted by the allurements of this world. 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to cast down imaginations and anything that tries to exalt itself above the knowledge of God, and so many battles are begun in the mind. Cast down negative thoughts and “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8 NLT)”

I hope you have a wonderful day! God bless! ~t

My thoughts are fixed on You Lord!

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

We live in a fast-paced society where there are so many thing pulling for our attention, and often times our attention is pulled away from Christ (I know I’m super guilty of this!). Working a couple of jobs and being involved in various ministries at church can be draining at times, and I’m learning that my renewal is truly only found in prayer and meditation on the Word of God. I have often been so guilty of working myself into exhaustion and not spending that precious time with my Lord. And when that happens, I feel so disconnected in my efforts (and I DO NOT like that feeling!). We have to remember that our efforts for the Lord must begin in the Spirit and covered with prayer in order to be successful (Galatians 3:3, 6:8). Thankfully, the Lord is always so gracious and loving, and He’s always right there with a refreshing touch in the Holy Ghost. What a mighty and awesome God we serve! To think that He could busy Himself with so many other things, yet He takes time to strengthen and renew me when I need it and when I seek Him for it!

So I encourage you to make every effort to seek God throughout your day. Sometimes it may seem like it isn’t possible, but remember with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27) and that we can do all things through Christ (Phil 4:13)!

Here are some things that I’ve done to increase the time I spend focusing on Jesus during the day:

* Playing a recording of the Word of God – I love to do this first thing in the morning (especially if I’m running late and cannot read my Bible first thing in the morning). It just sets the atmosphere for the day and helps me to memorize the Word of God.
*** If you need an audio Bible check out http://www.faithcomesbyhearing.com for a free download or streaming audio. http://www.BibleGateway.com also has the Bible available for audio streaming.

* Arrive at work a little early – by doing this, my mind is off of traffic and trying to rush to work and I can spend some alone time with the Lord before a crazy work day. I usually bring my Bible with me, but I like to us YouVersion’s Bible app to read on the go because it makes it very easy to share passages with my twitter pals.

* Playing gospel/Christian music throughout the day. – this keeps my mind stayed on the Lord and in a mind to worship

* Praying in the car – I cannot tell you how many times God has touched my heart when I take my 20 minute (sometimes longer) commute to work and use it to talk to Him. He has not only spoken to me, but given me words or things to encourage others with.

Well, those are some things that I do, do you all have any tips/ideas? Please share!

Have a wonderful evening! God bless! ~t
