God’s Divine Plan for Our Lives

Hello everyone, I know it’s been a while since I last wrote anything… life has been very hectic and I haven’t been able to collect my thoughts to write anything decent. But I’m back… I think 😉

So this week I have been reading in the book of Exodus, specifically when the Lord tells Moses the detailed instructions on how He wanted the tabernacle and the ark of the covenant to be built. I’m not really a “letter-visual person”, so reading the instructions can really make my head spin (I do best when I see the actual images or listen to things) and I find it difficult to focus and wrap my head around the details. But while reading these verses today, a question popped into my mind, “Why would God have all of these details and instructions listed here?”; that’s when I heard God remind me that He is a God of order and things are always done for a reason, even when we don’t see that rationale.

This really spoke to me because I am the kind of person who wants things done now, and I was reminded that just like the ark had specific measurements; our life has specific seasons and timings that God has allowed in order to grow us up in the faith. It is us to us to be obedient and follow the Holy Ghost or suffer the many consequences (look at Israel’s wandering in the wilderness for example. It was a journey that should have taken 11 days, but instead took 40 years because of their disobedience, murmuring, and complaining.).

Just like God had a plan for His tabernacle (Exodus 25-26) and the temple (2 Chronicles 1-4), we as born-again believers are a temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19) and God has a plan for our lives. We need to follow His Word in order for His Spirit to remain in our lives and for the Lord’s will to be accomplished in our lives. And without of the Spirit of Christ (the Holy Ghost), we are not the Lord’s (Romans 8:9), but are servants to sin (Romans 6). It is important to remember that, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD…” (Psalm 37:23) and that the Lord knows everything that you are going through. It is the path that He has designed for your life in order to make you more like Him and less like our carnal man. Our problem is that we often take our eyes off of Jesus and stray away, but we need to hold on and endure because we are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37)!

If you have not allowed yourself to be the temple of the Holy Ghost or are unsure, here are the Biblical instructions:
In order to become a dwelling place for the Spirit of God to reside, you must first be born again of the water and of the Spirit (John 3:3-8). How are you born again of the water and of the Spirit? Acts 2:38 tells us: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

So in order to be born again of the water and of the Spirit, you must first repent! There is no way around this step, you must empty yourself out and confess to God your sins and be willing to change. Next, water baptism in Jesus’ name is necessary, and then the Bible says you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! Verse 39 of that same chapter tells us that this is a promised gift, the Lord wants to fill you with His Spirit!!!

So allow God to work in your life and don’t resist what He is using to make and mold you into His image. Be encouraged everyone and remember that it will all work out for your good (Romans 8:28).
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ…” 1 Peter 1:7
